  1. Within 10 days of receiving your contract, submit your DAS 140 to the apprenticeship program. Make sure to state the estimated apprentice hours to meet the ratio requirements with your craft
  2. Prepare your fringe benefits statement using the information from the DIR Project ID. Provide your payroll department with a copy of your fringe benefits statement so they know the rates to pay employees who work on the job
  3. Request apprentices at least 72 hours prior to the start date
  4. Once your employees are paid, take the next steps to issue certified payroll, pay fringe benefits and provide the monthly reports

  1. Confirm that your registration with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) is current
  2. Confirm if the project has a PLA or Skilled & Trained Workforce requirement
  3. Obtain the project information using the DIR Project ID. This provides you with the official project name, owner, county, first advertised bid date (so you can obtain the proper pay rates), GC, etc
